This 40-tonne electric truck will supply parts for BMW

BMW and Scherm Group introduced all-electric truck to be used for the transportation of components between their factories in Munich. According to BMW, the world’s first 40-tonne electric truck, intended for traffic on public roads.

Built by the Dutch manufacturer of Terberg electric truck on July 7 has successfully completed testing and will now run between logistics center Scherm Group and by the BMW Group in Munich, eight times a day, carrying automobile parts: shock absorbers, springs, steering system and other.

It has been estimated 40-ton electric car “save” 11.8 tons of CO2 per year. How much is the fuel equivalent is not known. But it is known to charge the battery takes three to four hours, and a full charge is enough for 100 kilometers, which is theoretically enough to work through the day without pre-charge.
